Gary Bowyer is keen to use the loan market to add to his squad but he doesn't expect to do so ahead of the weekend's game against Middlesbrough.
Saturday sees the loan window re-open to allow Championship clubs to get players in, but whilst the manager wants to increase his squad options, he has no immediate plans.
"We are trying to bring one or two in on loan to help in certain positions, but as yet we haven't been able to achieve that," said the Rovers boss.
"We've the game this weekend against Middlesbrough and then we've got a gap for two weeks so there's not a mad rush for it.
"Because it is only one game and then you've got a gap it just enables us to take stock a little bit more.
"But if the right person comes along who we know will fit the bill then we'll have to act because we don't want to lose that time."
Bowyer has certain positions in mind with the manager keen to add at least a defender and an attacker to his squad.
"It is common knowledge that we need cover in defence," added Bowyer. "In an ideal world we'd look at getting somebody who could play centre half and anywhere across the back four.
"In the forward area we could do with a little bit of cover as well, especially with Josh King and Ben Marshall being out. We've lost two attack-minded players.
"Again, like I've said, it is about getting the right person in first and foremost and we'll work very hard to do that."
