Grant Hanley sees promising signs in his partnership with Matt Kilgallon.
The defensive duo have kept back-to-back clean sheets in Rovers' last two matches. Following up the 2-0 win over Blackpool with the goalless draw at Middlesbrough last time out.
Hanley has only partnered Kilgallon five times at the heart of the Rovers defence, but as the pair play more games together, he firmly believes that they will have a greater understanding and get even better.
"Matty has stepped in and you can see from his last few performances that he is a great player," said the Rovers captain.
"So hopefully if I keep playing next to him, we can get a good relationship going, and hopefully we can move forward.
"I enjoy playing alongside him, he is a good player and is very experienced."
The Scottish international admits has had to adjust his game when playing alongside Kilgallon, having moved from the left side of defence to the right. But Hanley is comfortable doing so.
"It is different," added the 22-year-old. "I've played left side for a long time but it helps being on my right - my stronger side.
"I've played on that side for Scotland as well, and I do feel myself drifting over to the left, but I think it will help me because I'm right-footed and now I'm playing on the right."
