We should be better placed

As Rovers approach the halfway stage of the season boss Gary Bowyer believes his side should be in a better position.

With 20 games played so far this campaign, Rovers currently sit seventh in the league table, a point off the top six, and seven off league leaders Derby County.

The Rovers boss feels that they should have more points on board, but with a busy period coming up, it presents them with a chance to move further up the table.

"I think generally over course of a season you finish up where you deserve to finish up," said Bowyer.

"That said, are we pleased with where we are at the moment? No. There's been instances where we certainly should have taken more out of games than what we have done.

"But it is a case now of just looking forward, there's a good period coming of games over the Christmas time and then we go into the new year hopefully looking in a better position than what we are in now.

"We've just got to keep picking points up, we've a lot of football left."
