Gary Bowyer admits his side have been handed a tough task after the FA Cup draw was made this Monday evening.

For Rovers have been pitted against fellow Championship opposition with a tricky third round away trip against Charlton Athletic.

Charlton, who sit just two points behind Rovers in the league, have lost just once at the Valley this season and Bowyer knows that they will have to be at their very best to progress through to the fourth round of the competition.

"Charlton at their own ground is a very tough game for us as they have an excellent record at the Valley," said the Rovers boss.

"Obviously we would have preferred a home tie for the fans so soon after Christmas.

"But it is a good game to start the new year and it is a competition we want to do well in to help our cause this season."

Confirmation of the date and ticketing arrangements will be announced in due course.
