Still in a great position

9 December 2014

Saturday's goalscorer Alex Baptiste has urged Rovers to put the defeat by Sheffield Wednesday quickly behind them.

The on-loan defender grabbed his second goal in Rovers colours, but a below-par display saw them lose it late to the Owls at Ewood. A first defeat in ten outings.

Baptiste believes the loss will only make the side stronger, and they'll quickly look to bounce back with Brentford next up this weekend.

"It wasn't good enough from us, it is a wake-up call," Baptiste told Radio Rovers after the game.

"Fair play to them they came here and had a right good go, we didn't play particularly well, we huffed and puffed in the second half.

"It is a choker to concede in the last minute, it takes a deflection, that is why it went in.

"But it may be the kick up the backside that we needed, it isn't all doom and gloom, we are seventh and still in a great position.

"The lads know it wasn't good enough, but onwards and upwards, we'll work harder in training and go from there. We'll dust ourselves off and go again and prepare well for another big game next weekend."
