Rhodes: Getting back to winning ways is essential

Jordan Rhodes aims to give fans some early Christmas cheer by firing Rovers to three points against Charlton on Saturday.

The Rovers striker has been as disappointed as anyone to see the unbeaten run come to an end with defeats against Sheffield Wednesday and Brentford, and is determined to make things right with a win at Ewood this weekend.

"We've gone from a half-decent run in being nine unbeaten to six points in six games which doesn't look very good on paper at all," admitted Rhodes.

"So going into the game against Charlton we'll very much be looking to get back to winning ways and giving the crowd something to cheer about, a bit of optimism around Christmas time.

"Against Sheffield Wednesday I didn't think there was much in the game, we probably deserved a draw, we didn't deserve to lose it in the manner that we did. It was a deflected shot at the end which was a little bit unfortunate but that's your luck at times.

"At Brentford we went down there and we really didn't put our stamp on the game like we normally do which isn't like us.

"But this Saturday we'll do our upmost and do our best to give everyone something to cheer about and come the 90 minutes hope we've got more goals than Charlton."

Tickets for the pre-Christmas clash with Charlton will be on sale until the 3.00pm kick-off. Prices are from £17 for Adults, from £11 for Seniors and Students, and from just £6 for Juniors aged 16 and under. Call the ticket office on 01254 372000 for further information.
