Reward the fans with a win

11 December 2014

Grant Hanley hopes to reward the travelling support with all three points against Brentford on Saturday.

Rovers will be backed by more than 1500 fans at Griffin Park this weekend, in what will be the first league meeting between the two sides in 35 years.

The Rovers captain has been delighted with the backing the side has received this season and is impressed with the numbers who will be making the journey south so close to Christmas.

"The fans have been brilliant this year," said Hanley. "Away from home if you look at the places that they've gone and in their numbers.

"It makes a massive difference when you've got a good following so full credit to them.

"It will be a difficult game on Saturday, they are doing well and have a lot of good players, so it would be nice - especially for the fans, to get a result there."

Hanley knows it is imperative that Rovers get back to winning ways after tasting their first loss in ten outings last time out.

The defender added: "After nicking a couple of results against Leeds and Middlesbrough the defeat has set us back a bit, so we need to get that mindset focused on the job in hand which is the bid for promotion.

"In the Championship there is no time to feel sorry for yourself, we were disappointed but we'll work hard towards Saturday and go to Brentford looking for three points."
