Pleasing to get such support

13 December 2014

Markus Olsson hopes to send the travelling fans home happy later today.

The Rovers defender has been delighted with the following the team has received on the road this season, and yet another large contingent of blue and whites will be making the journey to Griffin Park to see them take on Brentford this Saturday.

Rovers are unbeaten on the road in their last five outings, and Olsson wants to make that six to reward the supporters for their dedication.

"I think in every away game this season we have had a good following," said the Swede.

"It has been a good feeling to give back to the people that have travelled. The Middlesbrough game, the Brighton game, it was a good feeling for the players to run up to the away supporters after scoring goals, so I hope we can do that again at the weekend.

"At this time of year to have a lot of people coming to the games, for the players it is very pleasing that we get such support even though it is hard to get there for some of them, it is very much appreciated."

The full back knows it won't be easy against a Brentford side that have lost just one game on home soil this season. His brother, Martin, was on the winning side with Norwich City, the only time the Bees have tasted defeat.

"They are a good team, they play very good football," added the defender.

"I spoke to my brother about them because they've played them already. They beat them 3-0 there but he said the scoreline didn't reflect how the game was.

"They are a good team that likes to pass the ball so it isn't going to be easy, they have a good crowd as well.

"As a team they have a lot of movement and a lot of good individual players so we've got to be on our toes.

"But we have good confidence in the team, very good confidence and a lot of players are doing well so when we go there we've got to try and give them a run.

"I think we have what it takes to take three points away from home and that is what we are aiming for. We aren't going there to get a point or to sit back."
