Jason Lowe is ready to hand Rovers a festive boost after declaring himself available for Saturday's match at Brentford.

The Rovers midfielder has been out of action since the end of August after sustaining a stress fracture to his foot during the pre-season friendly against Stoke City.

Lowe started Rovers' first six matches of the season before being unable to continue due to the injury, but having stepped up his training in the past fortnight, the former England Under-21 international is hoping to be involved this weekend.

"I was probably playing with the injury for about four or five weeks," said Lowe.

"It was just something that was giving me a little bit of discomfort and by the end it was pretty sore constantly so we had to get it checked out. The injury was unexpected but it is what it is.

"It has been a long time but I've worked very hard to try and maintain a good level of fitness so hopefully that won't be too much of a problem. It is just about getting your bearings again back on the football field.

"I trained a few times last week, so I feel I am getting stronger every day and getting back used to it.

"I'm feeling good, I'm feeling confident, it has been a long time. Mentally I'm ready to go and it is just about giving the manager a problem and being ready if he needs me."
