Keep aiming for the top

As Rovers prepare to take on Brentford at Griffin Park on Saturday, defender Markus Olsson says a top six place is the minimum they should be going for.

Rovers currently sit just a point outside, but could move back into the play-off spots with victory over the Bees tomorrow.

Olsson has been frustrated that Rovers haven't been able to cement a place in the coveted positions as yet, but with the league as close as it's ever been, the spots are there for the taking, including the one at the very top.

"We are up there fighting for the play-off spots and even first place is not far off," said Olsson

"The league is very tight this year, more tight than it has been in recent years. When we feel that close we don't want to get comfortable, we've just got to keep doing our best, we can't be thinking about other results as the table changes every week.

"We should have been in the top six a couple of weeks ago, we drew some games that we should have won, but we can't be thinking about that too much. We just need to keep on playing and hopefully we'll be there for Christmas and then try to stay there.

"It feels that we've got the time, we need to still remain focused, we still want to do better in every game. We aren't happy that we are around the play-off spots right now, we want to be higher and I think that is important.

"The season doesn't end until May, so even though we are quite good now, there is still a lot left."
