Jordan Rhodes felt Rovers put in one of their performances of the season as they brushed aside Charlton Athletic 2-0 on Saturday.
The home side were quickly out of the blocks at Ewood Park with Rhodes plundering two goals inside the opening 20 minutes to take his tally for the season to nine.
Rovers could have scored more goals in what was a comfortable afternoon, but Rhodes was delighted to see the side getting back to winning ways.
"The plan from the offset was to really get after them and we did that," Rhodes told Radio Rovers. "We got an early goal and it really settled us down.
"We managed to get in at half-time 2-0 up so it was nice, it was a change from what we've been doing in previous weeks in having to chase games.
"In the second half it was a really professional performance, I think it was one of our better performances over the course of the season."
Whilst Rhodes was delighted to get back amongst the goals, the victory was more important to the 24-year-old striker.
Rhodes added: "It is nice to get a couple of goals but the most important thing is we got the win.
"It doesn't matter how you do it, as long as you come off after 90 minutes with the three points, that's all that matters.
"The goals were nice, Ben Marshall has done well for the first. The second was a little bit of a bonus goal but Rudy did terrifically well in flicking it on."
