Chris Brown will get more game time under his belt for the development squad in tonight's league match with Newcastle United at Leigh Sports Village.
After playing almost an hour for the Under-21s last Tuesday evening, the striker made his senior debut for Rovers in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough.
The former Doncaster frontman came on with minutes to go and played his part in the dramatic late equaliser by Rudy Gestede at the Riverside.
Brown is the only senior member in this evening's squad, with coach Eric Kinder relying on his regular young side for the match against against the Division 2 leaders.
There is also a place on the bench for the first time for defender Sam Jones who joined the club in October.
"Newcastle are top of the table, they have done ever so well this season," said Kinder.
"So it is another hard one, every game is hard in this division with Category 1. You are not going to find any easy games.
"We've done really well this season with the side we've had. We've got to keep picking points up for a mid-table finish or top half then I'd be absolutely delighted. That would mean we are making progress."
