Shane Duffy can't wait for the forthcoming matches over the festive period.

The Republic of Ireland international believes the two games over the festive are games that the players should be ready to relish.

Rovers kick off Boxing Day with a local derby against Bolton Wanderers, before taking on Middlesbrough at Ewood Park on Sunday.

"I love the Christmas period, these games are what it is all about," the defender told Rovers Player.

"We're prepared for it, two games in 48 hours and two big games as well.

"Bolton away we'll have a big travelling support from us which is great, so hopefully we can give them a good result and a good day.

"Then on the 28th it will be another big game with Middlesbrough coming to Ewood, especially what happened with up there last month.

"So we are all looking forward to it and hopefully we can get six points.

"There are still a lot of games to play but it is an important Christmas period and a chance to catch teams up again."

Tickets for the match against Bolton are all sold out, so why not listen to the game on Rovers Player by taking advantage of our 12 Days of Christmas free trial? Sign up here today.
