Sympathy for the supporters

19 August 2014

Gary Bowyer believes the fixture computer could be a little kinder to supporters.

Following Saturday's short trip to Blackpool, the Rovers fans now face the daunting task of a lengthy Tuesday night journey see their team take on Norwich City at Carrow Road.

Some 2300 supporters roared Rovers onto victory at the weekend, but the manager accepts that it will be nowhere near as easy for them to make their way to Norfolk during the week.

"The fans were outstanding on Saturday, they really were," said the Rovers boss. "They played a massive part.

"It just shows you that when you've got your away support like that, the help it brings to the players.

"So for them to make that journey on a Tuesday night is fantastic. I'm sure in time, with all the modern technology about, there must be better ways for the Football League to come up with fixture organisation.

"But that is what they've been dealt with, so we'll go there and give it a good go and hopefully the supporters will make the journey and we've got to try and make that worthwhile for them."

Tickets for the match will go off sale at Ewood at 11am on Tuesday. After that they'll be available from the Norwich Ticket office - cash only. Prices are £30 Adults, £20 Seniors (65+), £15 for Under 17’s and £10 for Under 12s.
