Boss Gary Bowyer is looking forward to seeing his side pit their wits against Premier League opposition once more this Sunday.
Stoke City are the visitors to Ewood Park as Rovers play their final pre-season friendly match ahead of next Friday's big league opener against Cardiff City.
Bowyer is eagerly anticipating locking horns with former Ewood boss Mark Hughes and is expecting a touch challenge from a Potters side who finished 9th in the top division last season.
Speaking ahead of the game, Bowyer said: "I think it is a fantastic game for us, obviously we'll be welcoming Mark Hughes and his staff back.
"We had some great times under Mark Hughes when he was manager here so we are looking forward to that.
"The game will present itself with a different challenge for us. It will be a test of our fitness levels and our organisation levels off the ball.
"Then it is up to us to go and express ourselves and to try and play. It will be similar to when we had Manchester City at home in the cup, so we are looking forward to testing ourselves against them that is for sure."
Rovers have been rocked this past week with a sickness bug which has gone through the camp, but the Rovers boss is hopeful that it will clear in time to have a near fully fit squad to select from against Stoke City.
"We hope to have a few of the lads back," added Bowyer. "There are few that are struggling but we are hoping to get rid of that. At this moment it is a case of getting in on Friday and seeing who hasn't got this bug!
"As close as we can we'd like to play Stoke with the team that will possibly start against Cardiff, but it is a long week."
Tickets for Sunday's game will be on sale up until the 3.00pm kick-off. Tickets are priced from £12 Adults, £8 Seniors/17-21yrs and £3 Juniors under 17s.
