Rudy Gestede was delighted that his goals earned Rovers their first win of the season against Blackpool on Saturday.
The frontman scored both goals as Rovers defeated the Seasiders 2-1 at Bloomfield Road. Opening the scoring on 26 minutes by sweeping the ball home after a counter-attack, then adding a second early in the second half with a trademark header from a Craig Conway cross.
Gestede believes Rovers have started the season with confidence and has stressed the importance of carrying that on.
"It is important to get the three points," said the striker. "After the game against Cardiff it was good to carry this confidence.
"They were a strong team but we fought until the end and we got three points.
"It is good to start like this, four points from two games, it is good for the confidence."
The Benin international has continued this season with the same sort of goalscoring form that he ended the last campaign, his brace meaning he has now scored 11 goals in his last 11 league games for Rovers.
"It is good for the confidence to score and to keep belief in yourself," added Gestede.
"I know we've got the team to do good stuff this season, everybody is pushing in the same way so it is easier for a striker because they will give you chances, you just need to be ready to score.
"We need to carry this confidence and keep scoring goals, today was a good day for me, but now it is behind me and I'm looking forward to the next game."
Next up for Rovers is another tricky away trip against former Premier League side Norwich City on Tuesday at Carrow Road, a match Gestede believes Rovers can impress in.
"We look forward to the Norwich game and to show we can compete against a big team." added the striker.
"I'm sure we can do it so now we are going to show everyone we are ready for the battle of the championship."
