Gary Bowyer couldn't be more delighted with the way Markus Olsson has started the new season.
The Rovers defender has picked up where he left off at the end of the previous campaign with similar impressive displays at left back.
Injury to regular full back Tommy Spurr has meant the Swede has had to make the step up, but he's more than made his mark in his first two outings.
"I think he's started the season in the same way he finished the last one," said the Rovers boss. "He's been outstanding in the two games.
"I thought he defended ever so well on Saturday because I didn't think it was a booking in the first half. If that is a booking then every foul is a booking.
"He then what he did do was defend ever so well on that yellow card for a long period of the game.
"He gives us a different option going forward to Tommy, but he's been brilliant for us that is for sure."
