Get ready for the real stuff

3 August 2014

Gary Bowyer is delighted to finally be able to concentrate on the first game of the season after Rovers ended their pre-season campaign with a 1-1 draw with Stoke City.

The Rovers boss was pleased with the way his side performed against the Premier League side, as Jordan Rhodes' first half header was cancelled out by Bojan's second half strike.

"I'm not a fan of pre-season friendlies but they serve a purpose," said Bowyer after the game.

"We knew today would be a really good test and I thought our lads stood up to it very very well against a quality team.

"The lads have put in a good shift for us and worked really hard, and we scored a great goal.

"Now pre-season is over and we can focus on Cardiff and get ready for the real stuff."

Tickets for Friday's match against Cardiff City are on open sale with prices from £17 Adults, £11 Seniors/Students and £6 Juniors under 17. Book online today at
