Gary Bowyer feels Tom Cairney has the ability to play anywhere after his goalscoring start to the season.
The Rovers midfielder has his started his own 'Goal of the Season' competition after following up his stunning strike against Cardiff City with an even better one against Norwich City on Tuesday.
Cairney grabbed six goals for Rovers last season and is already well on the way to beating that this term with the manager challenging him to reach double figures.
"The position he plays when he's on the right just enables him to drift and get into areas where he's more difficult to pick up and that was a classic example against Norwich," said Bowyer.
"I think his goal against Cardiff was an example of that and Tuesday night was the same, it is a hell of a strike, you can watch it over and over again.
"We've encouraged him to shoot more but he's really taken it on. It is all set up for him to try and get to double figures which will be fantastic.
"The great thing about him is it doesn't matter where we ask him to play, he'll just go on and do it. He can play anywhere, he could become a very good number 10 eventually. He's a goal threat and it is about us finding the right position where he can be at his most creative.
"This season he has started like a house on fire, he's got a wand of a left foot, he's a fantastic talent and we are delighted with the progress that he's made in terms of that contribution to his game."
