Gary Bowyer has spoke of his delight at the impressive start Alex Baptiste has made since his arrival last month.
The 28-year-old defender joined on a season-long loan from Bolton Wanderers and has quickly settled in at Rovers.
Boss Gary Bowyer has been pleased with the impact the defender has made in the first three games of the season, in particular with the versatility that he has shown.
"We knew that the people we brought in had to have a bit of flexibility about them," Bowyer told Rovers Player.
"We knew that with Alex, we knew he could play anywhere across the back four.
"I think that with the level of his performances it looks like he's been here for a couple of seasons he has fitted in that well.
"He started off at right back against Cardiff and since then he has slotted in at centre half. I thought that in the last two games he has been superb, he has put a strong case forward to stay there."
