A good team effort

18 August 2014

Markus Olsson was delighted to see Rovers claim their first win of the season on Saturday.

A brace from Rudy Gestede saw Rovers win on their travels as Blackpool were defeated 2-1 at Bloomfield Road.

The Rovers defender impressed once more at left back as they claimed their first three point haul of the campaign.

"We got the win and that is the most important thing," said Olsson.

"I think the team defended well from the back four to the strikers, so it was a good team effort and I think we deserved the win."

Rovers had to withstand a spell of pressure from the home side in the second half, but Olsson and the rest of the team showed great battling qualities to claim all three points.

"Of course you always want to win comfortably," added the Swede. "But that is not going to happen every day. We have to be focussed for the full nAinety minutes and keep working hard.

"To go away against Blackpool and win is a good result."
