Wil’s skills earn Rovers reward!

20 April 2014

Footy whizz-kid Wil Eastham got to meet his Rovers heroes after winning the RFS ‘Show Us Your Moves’ competition.

Wil won a trip to the training ground, where he had lunch with the players – and even wowed the first team squad with his skills!

The 11-year-old, from Lytham, submitted the standout entry in the competition, which asked fans to film themselves performing some of their best football moves.

Wil sent in a 76-second clip of him doing keepy-uppies with a tennis ball, dressed in his full Rovers kit. His record currently stands at 168, whilst with a normal-size football it is a whopping 1,200!

The pint-sized star was presented with a certificate and signed ball by his favourite player, Tom Cairney, and said: “It’s been amazing! I was overwhelmed when I found out I’d won and I’ve had a really good time coming down to the training ground to meet all the players.”

John Turner, Chief Executive at RFS, said: “RFS were delighted by the huge response received by Rovers fans who sent in their video clips and wanted to be part of this Show Us Your Moves competition. However, with his fantastic keepy-uppy skills, Wil is a true star and our congratulations go to him for such an impressive display.”
