Spurr: We owe the Seagulls one

1 April 2014

Tommy Spurr wants Rovers to avenge the defeat by Brighton when the two sides met back in November.

On that day at the Amex Stadium, Rovers were on the wrong end of a 3-0 loss, although the scoreline didn't reflect the manner in which the game played out.

Rovers were dominant against the Seagulls but came up an inspired goalkeeping display from Tomasz Kuszczak to leave without any points, so the Rovers defender wants to put that right this Tuesday evening.

Speaking ahead of tonight's game, Spurr said: "Brighton are a good side and I think down there we obviously didn't do ourselves justice in the first half.

"From what I remember, we had a lot of chances, twenty-odd shots away from home, their goalkeeper has got man-of-the-match and yet we've lost 3-0. It was one of those games.

"So we owe them a little bit, we haven't anything to lose, we've got to go into that game looking to win it. They also need to win so it should be a good game to watch and for us to play in."

Tickets for this evening's match against Brighton are currently on open sale priced from £15 Adults, £10 Seniors and £5 Juniors. Book online today at and collect your tickets from the Blackburn End collection point on the day of the game.
