Return to the clean sheet mentality

2 April 2014

Gary Bowyer has called on his side to rediscover their defensive form following another goal-laden draw.

Tuesday night's 3-3 result with Brighton & Hove Albion meant Rovers have now drawn their last four matches, and the manager knows that if they are to turn draws into wins then they have to tighten up at the back.

"We've got to dust ourselves down now and get ready for Ipswich," Bowyer told Radio Rovers.

"There are seven games to go, points still to play for, and we've got to make sure that we get back to producing clean sheets.

"We had twelve I think this season and we've got to get that mentality back because going forward we are scoring goals and we look good, our football is good.

"So we need to get back on the training ground on Thursday and work hard on keeping clean sheets.

"You can't question the character or the application from the players, it is just that we have to just eradicate the soft goals that we are conceding and that is what they are."

Rovers are back in action this Saturday when Ipswich Town are the visitors to Ewood Park. Tickets are currently on open sale priced from £15 Adults, £10 Seniors and £5 Juniors. Book online today at www.onerovers.co.uk.
