Rovers could be handed an end of season boost with the news that Ben Marshall is close to a return.
The summer signing from Leicester City hasn't featured for Rovers since damaging ankle ligaments in the 1-1 draw with Derby County back in January.
The midfielder has spent the last three months having rehabilitation, but is now well on the road to recovery.
"I've been training on the grass for a few sessions now, I've been doing a lot of ball work and a lot of running," said Marshall.
"I'll continue to work on my fitness this week and be back training next week and go from there.
"It is good, I'm just glad to be out there kicking a ball about again."
When Marshall sustained the injury at the end of January it looked like his season would be over. But there was always being a slight chance that the winger could make a return.
"Going off what the physios and the doctor were telling me, it was probably going to be touch and go, but realistically my season was done." added Marshall. "So it is nice to be in with a shout of maybe playing some minutes on the field, it's good.
"The lads have done well, the players who have come in are doing well, it is going to be hard but it is all part of the challenge."
Rovers return to Ewood this Good Friday when Yeovil Town are the visitors in the 3.00pm kick-off.
