Kick on from the weekend

8 April 2014

Michael Keane knows the importance of backing up Saturday's win with another three points this Tuesday evening.

After four draws on the spin, Rovers returned to winning ways at the weekend with a hardworking 2-0 win over fellow play-off chasing Ipswich Town.

Queens Park Rangers are next at Ewood Park, and the on-loan defender knows it is imperative that Rovers make it back-to-back victories.

"We've had some good performances lately but we've not been able to turn them into wins, so to finally do that at the weekend was good and hopefully we can kick on now," Keane told Rovers Player.

"It was my first clean sheet since I've been here. I think in general we've been defending well but just conceding silly goals which we should easily cut out and thankfully we managed to do that."

Rovers go into this evening's match off the back of a six-game unbeaten run, but whilst Keane is eager to stretch that further, he knows it won't be easy against a Queens Park Rangers side still harbouring ambitions of going up directly.

"There are still six games to go and a lot of points to play for so you never know," added the defender.

"We go into every game feeling we can win it, so there's no reason why we can't win four, five or even six in a row. We need to get a few wins on the bounce and see where we are after that.

"Tuesday will be a big test, they've obviously got a lot of experienced players who have played in the Premier League in the past so it will be good to test ourselves against these types of players as that is where we want to be eventually.

"We are all looking forward to it, it should be a good game and hopefully we can get a good result."

Tickets for the match are on open sale until the 7.45pm kick-off with prices from £15 Adults, £10 Seniors and £5 Juniors. Book online today at and collect on the day of the game from the Blackburn End collection point.
