Keep the away goals coming

25 April 2014

Gary Bowyer wants Rovers to maintain their scoring touch on their travels when they take on Charlton Athletic on Saturday.

Rovers have found the back of the net 16 times in their last five away games and travel to The Valley in confident mood with the manager demanding more of the same.

"We've scored a number of goals away from home," said the Rovers boss. "In the last five away games we have been very creative and we've just got to keep that going.

"Our away form of late has been excellent, and the fact that we can go to places and score as many goals as what we have done is pleasing, so we need to reproduce that again."

The manager has hailed the impact that both Rudy Gestede and Craig Conway have made in the last few months, with both players impressing on numerous occasions since the pair signed in January.

Bowyer added: "The goals are getting shared out now which is pleasing and the fact that the big man has got ten and reached double figures is impressive because it just takes the burden off Jordan as well.

"We can't ignore the impact that Craig Conway has made with his delivery from open play and set-pieces.

"It must be a dream for the two lads up front because you know that when he gets it he's putting it in that spot regularly.

"I said that was the case on Monday, he's made a massive impact for us."
