Frustrating and disappointing

1 April 2014

Gary Bowyer was bitterly disappointed as Rovers again scored a hatful of goals but only had a point to show for it.

Scoring goals hasn't been a problem of late for Rovers, but keeping them out at the other end has, as Brighton snatched a late equaliser and a thrilling 3-3 draw.

But with Rovers needing a win to have any chance of reaching the play-offs, a fourth consecutive draw was not what was wanted.

"We can't score three goals and not win the game," Bowyer told Radio Rovers. "We said that last Tuesday and we've done the same again tonight.

"It is really frustrating and disappointing. When you look at the quality of our goals and compare them to the goals that we have conceded it is hugely disappointing.

"We have scored some outstanding goals, the second goal is an unbelievable move from start to finish.

"All three of their goals were preventable, they only had four shots on goal and they've scored three of them."

Rovers thought they had snatched all three points when Jordan Rhodes scored from the spot to make it 3-2, but the Seagulls scored almost straight away, much to the dismay of the manager.

"We've watched their third goal again and I don't think we get a touch from the kick-off," added Bowyer. "We've not defended it well enough, the cross that comes in is too easy and the lad has had a free header which is disappointing.

"We've not learnt, we've scored three goals and not won the game again, you can't keep doing that."

Rovers are back in action this Saturday when Ipswich Town are the visitors to Ewood Park. Tickets are currently on open sale priced from £15 Adults, £10 Seniors and £5 Juniors. Book online today at www.onerovers.co.uk.
