Davison treble secures Sunday Cup!

30 April 2014

Mark Davison’s fine hat-trick inspired Humbledon Plains Farm to a 5-2 victory over holders Oyster Martyrs in the 50th anniversary FA Carlsberg Sunday Cup final, played here at Ewood Park.

Humbledon took the lead through Aaron Croft on five minutes, before Oyster’s Jonathan Swatton equalised. Davison restored the Durham side’s advantage, only for Jamie Rainford to level straight from the restart.

It was one-way traffic after the interval, as Davison smashed home his second, strike partner Chris Winn soon joined him on the scoresheet, before Davison completed his hat-trick with a header, as Humbledon lifted the trophy for the first time since 1990, in front of over 400 fans.
