Gary Bowyer was full of praise after another goal-laden display on their travels.

Rovers followed up their 4-2 win over Birmingham City on Monday with a 3-1 away win over Charlton Athletic, to ensure they remain in the hunt for a top-six place going into the final week of the season.

Rudy Gestede got Rovers off the mark with yet another header, his 9th in eleven goals for the club, before Paul Robinson made a superb save to keep out Marvin Sordell's penalty kick.

In the second half Michael Keane popped up to head home, and although Sordell did reduce areas, Tom Cairney returned to notch Rovers' third from close-range to clinch the victory.

"We scored some fantastic goals again today," the manager told Rovers Player after the game.

"We were comfortable at 1-0 and we felt that we should have had a penalty, it is a nailed on penalty.

"Then they go down the other end and we give a soft one away again, but full credit to Robbo he has gone the right way. It was a big moment because it was just before half-time.

"The timing of our second goal was excellent and the quality of delivery was again fantastic.

"We go 2-0 up and are disappointed to concede, but our reaction to that was top class.

"In the end we could have had more as their goalie has made a couple of fantastic saves and we also hit the woodwork.

"Overall we are very pleased with the performance."
