A vast collection of memorabilia belonging to a devoted football fan who tragically passed away last year after a long battle with illness has been made available for purchase on AuctionmyStuff.com.
The online sale features over 200 football shirts collected by life-long Liverpool fan Adam Walker and includes dozens of pieces signed by some of the biggest names in the game, including former Rovers defenders Stephen Warnock and Andre Ooijer.
Adam's journey began in November 2001 when he went to his first game - Derby vs Liverpool - where he asked for his first ever signatures, which came willingly from Steven Gerrard and Michael Owen.
Over the years, wheelchair-bound Adam became a familiar face at Anfield and later at Ewood Park, where he was allowed to wait for players in the Jack Walker reception before and after games to enhance his ever-increasing collection of football memorabilia by asking players to sign shirts, programmes, books and other items.
After a long battle with Cerebral Palsy and Cystic Fibrosis, Adam sadly passed away on September 26th 2013. His dad Alan, who first brought Adam to Ewood in 2004, where they were befriended by stadium staff, said: "Adam was a courageous, fearless and determined young man, who I am incredibly proud of. Football was his passion and his sanctuary and I will be forever thankful to the staff at Blackburn Rovers who treated Adam like royalty and gave him permission to meet the away teams before and after each match."
Online bidding will be available from March 31st to April 20th at www.auctionmystuff.com
. There will also be a second sale later this year for other items from Adam's collection.
