Gary Bowyer was delighted that they were able to combine goalscoring and clean sheets as Rovers defeated Ipswich Town 2-0.
After four consecutive draws Rovers returned to winning ways thanks to second half strikes from Jordan Rhodes and Rudy Gestede.
Keeping them out at the other end has been a problem in recent weeks, but Bowyer was delighted with the way the players performed to earn all three points.
"We spoke about it after Tuesday, piecing the two together," Bowyer told Radio Rovers.
"I think a huge credit to our lads because they have done that today against a tough Ipswich team.
"You know under Mick McCarthy you are never going to get a moments rest and we had to match everything that Ipswich threw at us.
"I thought we were immense, especially in the second half, I think we went up another notch. I've nothing but praise because it has been a tough couple of weeks in terms of games and the turnaround.
"One or two of them were out on their feet at the end but they gave absolutely everything.
"It was a big effort from everybody, we are delighted."
