Rhodes pulls out of Scotland squad

9 September 2013

Rovers have been dealt an injury concern ahead of Saturday’s East Lancashire derby after Jordan Rhodes withdrew from the Scotland squad for tomorrow’s World Cup qualifier away to Macedonia.

The striker, who received treatment to a hand injury during Rovers’ 4-1 win over Bolton Wanderers, came on as a substitute midway through the second half of Friday's 2-0 defeat to Belgium, but has pulled out of the trip to Skopje.

Rhodes has grabbed four goals in Rovers’ last two league games and opened the scoring in last season’s 1-1 draw with Burnley at Turf Moor.
