Rhodes delight for duo

29 September 2013

Jordan Rhodes hailed his strike partners Leon Best and Josh King after Saturday's 3-1 win over AFC Bournemouth.

The 23-year-old was amongst the goals once more with a super diving header from a Best cross, before he converted from the penalty spot after King had been felled in the box.

Rhodes and Best were partnered for only the second time from the start of the match this season, with the striker delighted, not only to see Best score, but also with his all-round contribution.

"Leon is a terrific player," said Rhodes. "His size, his strength, and his ability on the ball.

"He's tough to mark at times, he's tough to handle, especially when he is on that sort of form.

"Even if he didn't score the goal, he had a terrific game and he played really well, but I'm delighted to see him score the goal to top off that performance."

One man that has really stood out in recent weeks has been attacker Josh King.

The Norwegian international was again a real force against the Cherries back line, his troubling pace earning Rovers a penalty after he was felled by Tommy Elphick, which Rhodes converted to make it 3-0 before half-time.

"Josh has been terrific for the last month or so," added the striker.

"His pace and his trickery at times is simply unplayable. He's fantastic when he is in that sort of form.

"He's playing really well at the moment, as is everyone, it was a real team effort, it was fantastic to get the three points."

"Now everyone will try and get themselves ready and dust themselves down to try and get a place for Tuesday's game at Watford."

Rhodes, Best and King will be back in action this Tuesday night at Ewood Park when Watford are the visitors.

Tickets will be on sale up until the 7.45pm kick-off priced from £15 Adults, £10 Seniors and £5 Juniors. Book online today at and collect your tickets from the Blackburn End collection point on the night.
