Rovers Academy have made a hat-trick of permanent appointments.
Former youth players Darragh Tuffy and Steven Drench, who have continued their association with the Academy through coaching, have both been promoted to full-time positions, while part-time coach Dan Stubberfield has also been taken on full-time.
Darragh is the Assistant Youth Development Phase Coach, Dan is the Assistant Foundation Phase Coach and Steven, who helped out with the first team in Gary Bowyer’s first spell in caretaker charge, is the Goalkeeping Coach.
As ex-Rovers, Darragh and Steven have a close affinity with the club, who have helped put them through their UEFA coaching qualifications.
Academy Manager Phil Cannon said: “Promoting from within is fantastic, as they can both hit the ground running, as the settling in period is quicker.
“They understand the philosophy and values of the club and also having been there and come through the system, they understand the demands on the young players as they strive to win an Academy scholarship.
“Dan is a Rovers fan, who lives locally. He has worked at the Academy for four years, as well as running his own Soccer Schools.
“I would like to wish them all every success in their new roles.”
