Touch and go for Scott

4 October 2013

Blackburn Rovers will give captain Scott Dann as long as possible to be fit for Sunday's match against Wigan Athletic.

The central defender limped off in the final moments of Rovers' 1-0 win over Watford on Tuesday night with a groin injury, but whilst scans have proved positive, he might not have recovered in time for the game at the DW Stadium.

"It is going to be close, we are going to give him every opportunity," said boss Gary Bowyer.

"The scans came back positive so he's just working with the medics now and it is just a question of whether the game comes a bit too soon.

"The added advantage is of course that the game comes on Sunday."

With the international break taking place after Sunday's match, Bowyer won't risk rushing any of the injured players back too soon.

David Dunn, DJ Campbell, Dickson Etuhu, Adam Henley and Paul Robinson are all progressing, but there is little point bringing some of them them back ahead of a fortnight's break.

However Monday's Under-21s match at Ewood Park against Everton could see Etuhu and Henley feature.

"It is common sense not to rush any of them really with the break coming," added Bowyer. "Because that gives them an extra two weeks.

"But in two week's time we hope to have one or two back.

"We are hoping Dickson plays on Monday in the Reserve game, Adam Henley might have 45 minutes in that game, so everyone is coming back and progressing nicely.

"I think Paul Robinson is not far off from starting training as well, so it is good and people want to be part of it."

Tickets for Sunday's game will go off sale at Ewood Park at 1pm on Saturday, but they will be available on the day of the game from the DW Stadium.

Tickets are priced at £20 Adults, £15 Seniors and 16-21 year-olds, and £10 for Under-16s.
