Signs of consistency

3 October 2013

Gary Bowyer wants Rovers to take that confidence from Tuesday night's clean sheet in the win over Watford into Sunday's game at Wigan Athletic.

Rovers made it back-to-back wins this week as Jordan Rhodes header earned the Lancashire club a 1-0 win to follow up Saturday's 3-1 victory over AFC Bournemouth.

"To have a clean sheet at home against the leading goalscorers in the league was a phenomenal effort," Bowyer told Radio Rovers.

"That is ten points from twelve at home now and coupled with backing up the away win on Saturday I have nothing but praise for them, we were tremendous."

The players have an extra day to recover before facing Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadium this Sunday, but they'll go into the game full of confidence.

"A week is a long time in the championship and we just hope now that we can recover quickly and get ready to have a good go at Wigan," added the Rovers boss.

"It breeds confidence and the fact that we've been able to put in back-to-back wins is everything that these lads deserve because they have worked very hard and they are now showing signs of consistency."

Tickets for Sunday's match are currently on open sale from the Roverstore at Ewood Park and Blackburn Town Centre. Tickets are priced at £20 Adults, £15 Seniors and 16-21 year-olds, and £10 for Under-16s. Tickets will be available for sale on the day of the game at the DW Stadium.
