On the attack

1 October 2013

Boss Gary Bowyer has called on his side to take the game to Watford at Ewood Park this evening.

Rovers go into the game in good heart off the back of their 3-1 away win over AFC Bournemouth on Saturday, but Bowyer knows that the high-flying Hornets will provide a much sterner test.

"We've spoke about having a right good go," said Bowyer.

"There'll be periods of the game where we are going to have to be disciplined and organised, but you saw on Saturday with our front three and the way that they attacked.

"Then in our last three home games we've scored nine goals, so we've got everything to play for."

Watford have lost just the once this season and travel to Lancashire after defeating Wigan Athletic 1-0 at the weekend, and the Rovers boss expects Gianfranco Zola's side to be up there in the end of season shake-up once more after missing out on promotion in last season's play-off final.

"It is a very difficult game at home to Watford," added Bowyer.

"They missed out on promotion to the Premier League and since then they have gone and strengthened their squad even further.

"You look at the quality of players they've got, they can all handle the ball and are technically good players. They've got people who can create near enough in all positions.

"But if we can get at them early and get into a rhythm and get the backing of our support then we'll try to upset them."

Tickets for tonight's match will be on sale up until the 7.45pm kick-off.

Prices are from £15 adults, £10 seniors and £5 juniors.
