Blackburn Rovers have bolstered their squad with the addition of Rudy Gestede from Cardiff City.
The 25-year-old centre forward arrives at Ewood Park on loan until January, with a view to a permanent transfer.
After coming through the youth ranks at FC Metz, Gestede spent a year on loan gaining experience with AS Cannes, scoring four goals in 22 appearances, before returning to Metz in 2010.
The summer of 2011 saw the striker make the move across the English Channel to join Cardiff City after a successful trial.
Gestede more than played his part in Cardiff's 2012-13 promotion campaign, scoring on five occasions as the Bluebirds lifted the Championship trophy.
A regular at youth levels for France up to Under-19s, Gestede has since opted to play for the country of his parents, Benin. He has two goals from three appearances for the West African nation.
Subject to international clearance, Gestede could make his Rovers debut this weekend against Leeds United at Ewood Park. Tickets for Saturday's match are currently on sale to database members priced from £19 Adults, £12 Seniors and £7 Juniors. Book online today at www.onerovers.co.uk.
