Gary Bowyer was absolutely delighted for midfielder Jason Lowe after he scored the winner against Middlesbrough on Saturday.
The 22-year-old picked the perfect moment to score his first goal in a Rovers shirt with a 75th minute thunderbolt from 25 yards to seal all three points for the Lancashire club in a closely-run contest against Boro.
Lowe's first goal was his first in 96 appearances for Rovers, but it was well worth the wait.
"We are absolutely delighted for Lowey," Bowyer told Radio Rovers.
"Like we said last week when he signed his new contract, the hours he puts in we've been challenging him to score some goals, so to get that, we're delighted for him.
"The place is buzzing because everybody is delighted for him as well, it was some strike.
"Full credit to him, he's delighted that he's been given some freedom to go and get forward so hopefully that is the start of many more to come."
Lowe and Rovers are back in action this Saturday when Rovers travel to the Amex Stadium to take on Brighton & Hove Albion.
