Bowyer wary of Boro boost

2 November 2013

Gary Bowyer is under no illusions that today's match against Middlesbrough will be another tough test.

Rovers go into the game looking to get back to winning ways on home soil, but come up against a Boro side boosted by their 4-0 win over Doncaster last week.

Following the sacking of Tony Mowbray, Mark Venus took charge of Middlesbrough and got the required result with an emphatic display, and Bowyer knows only too well what is required as a caretaker boss following his two stints with Rovers last season.

"When you go into the game as a caretaker, all you can do is put the onus on the players to go and perform," said the Rovers boss.

"Full credit to Middlesbrough and Mark Venus because they did that last week against Doncaster Rovers.

"They've got some fantastic players. Grant Leadbitter is probably one of the top midfielders in the division, and they've spent wisely and heavily in the summer.

"We know that it is going to be a tough game for us.

"All we can do is prepare ourselves. Middlesbrough were impressive last week going forward so we have got to be wary of that.

"At the same time we've got a good threat going forward ourselves so it should be an entertaining game."

Tickets for today's game will be on sale up until the 3.00pm kick-off. Prices are just £12 Adults, £6 for Seniors and Students and £1 for Juniors under 16.
