Boss hails Adkins

23 November 2013

Gary Bowyer is full of admiration for the work done by the manager who will be in the opposing dugout this afternoon - Nigel Adkins.

The Rovers boss rates the Reading supremo highly and has revealed that he spoke to Adkins over the summer.

Bowyer is expecting a good footballing match against the Royals, one that will be a good test of the young Rovers' credentials.

"First and foremost they've got a top manager in Nigel Adkins," said the Rovers manager.

"What he achieved at Scunthorpe and went on to do at Southampton was incredible.

"I spoke to him in the summer and he was good, he offered me some decent advice.

"It is going to be a tough game for us but a footballing game that we've got to show that we can compete in.

"They are just out of the Premiership so it is great one for our players to go and measure themselves.

"Nigel has his footballing principles and that is to play attractive football which they do. I can't see them changing that at all."

Tickets for today's game will be on sale until the 3.00pm kick-off. Prices start from £19 Adults, £12 Seniors and £7 Juniors.
