Michael Appleton is hoping to upset the form book when Rovers travel to face Bolton Wanderers this Tuesday evening.
Rovers come up against a Trotters side who have won their last three and are unbeaten in a Lancashire derby at the Reebok.
Appleton was an interested observer at Ewood Park when the two sides last met back in November as Bolton won the local derby 2-1 and is expecting another tough test on this occasion.
"I was at the game in November, because, as Blackpool manager, we had Blackburn a couple of weeks later," said Appleton. "I was impressed with Bolton on the night.
"They've really found their feet now and they are probably thinking that they can be the ones to go on a run and make the play-offs.
"It is difficult when you come down from the Premier League and they have found that. You only need to look at Wolves at the minute.
"So it is going to be tough tie, they face us on the back of three very good victories, but it is a game that if we do go about it in the right manner that I think we can get a result.
"Bolton is a good place to go and win and that is the message I'll be giving to the players."
Tickets for this evening's match at Bolton will be on sale cash only from the away turnstiles from 7pm. Supporters should note that numbers are very limited. Prices are £15 for Adults, £5 for Seniors and Under-21s.
