Injury boost for Rovers

28 March 2013

Rovers have some good news on the injury front ahead of Good Friday's clash with Blackpool.

Striker Colin Kazim-Richards could be in line for a return after making good progress in recovering from an ankle knock, whilst David Bentley, Martin Olsson and Markus Olsson could also come into contention.

The Turkish international hasn't featured for Rovers since limping out of the draw with Leeds United last month, whilst a knee injury had sidelined David Bentley.

"I think Colin Kazim-Richards could be around the squad," said Gary Bowyer to the media on Thursday.

"Leon Best is getting better every day with his recovery from his long-term injury, and we have Martin and Markus Olsson being assessed.

"So we'll see how we are with them, we are hopeful that they could be involved as well.

"David Bentley has trained for a couple of days so he isn't too far away also.

"So we've got a good squad and there are some talented players there. In attacking options we are spoilt for choice so it is then a case of picking the right combinations.

"The personnel has changed that is for sure and the situation is slightly different.

"We've just to make sure that we keep everyone fit and have as many available for selection as possible."

Rovers remain without Dickson Etuhu (knee), Adam Henley (hamstring), DJ Campbell (ankle), Bradley Orr (ribs) and Paul Robinson (back).

Bowyer is expected to choose from: Kean, Kane, Dann, Hanley, Martin Olsson, Dunn, Lowe, Jones, Stewart, Best, Rhodes, Sandomierski, Givet, Pedersen, Murphy, Markus Olsson, King, Williamson, Nuno Gomes, Rekik, Morris, Goodwillie, Bentley, Kazim-Richards.

Tickets for the Good Friday match will be on sale until the 3.00pm kick-off.

Prices start from £19 Adults, £12 Seniors and £7 Juniors. Book online today at and collect your tickets from the Blackburn End collection point on the day of the game.
