Michael Appleton was full of praise for the performance of Markus Olsson on Tuesday night.
At the Reebok against Bolton Wanderers the Swedish winger was employed as a full back, a position that he hasn't played since the early part of the season.
After the game Appleton likened Markus's display to that of his brother Martin in the way he defended and attacked with the Rovers boss delighted with his contribution.
"You wouldn't have realised it was Markus would you?" said Appleton after the game.
"He and Martin are almost identical in how they go about their business.
"I thought Markus did ever so well, he took on the responsibilities of being able to deal with balls that were going to the far post. The diagonal balls up to the big players.
"Every time that he needed to step in front of one of the centre halves to deal with it he did do.
"He maybe switched off slightly towards the end with the goal but I'll take that on the chin because I've asked him to come and do a role that he's not particularly familiar with, although he's played it a couple of times.
"I thought he did ever so well."
