Lee Williamson believes that under Gary Bowyer, Rovers can have a good 2013-14 campaign.
The midfielder, who penned a new one-year extension to his contract with Rovers on Monday, was delighted that Bowyer was given the managerial job full-time and is convinced that his passion for the club can have a positive impact.
"I'm really pleased," Williamson told Rovers Player. "Even before I signed when he took over I thought he played a really big part in Blackburn staying up.
"He's a good man and a good coach and his heart is in the right place. He has everyone's best interests at heart, especially the club.
"He loves the club and he wants us to be successful.
"Whoever is in charge, I think however their attitude towards football, towards the games and the supporters as a whole it does rub up off you.
"So when you have got someone like that who is in charge, who is positive and behind you and a winner then it rubs off."
For the 31-year-old, there is only one aim for the 2013-14, to get back into the Barclays Premier League.
"Personally we have got to be pushing for promotion straight away," added Williamson.
"That has got to be the same mentality throughout the whole of the club really. Everybody wants to get back to the Premier League.
"It is the best league in the world and that is where we want to get back to."
