King to face favourites Spain

15 June 2013

Josh King will hope to help Norway make history when they take on holders Spain in the semi-finals of the European Under-21 Championship.

The Rovers forward is expected to retain his place in Tor Ole Skullerud’s starting line-up after an impressive performance in their final group game against Italy.

Norway narrowly missed out on top spot in Group A after conceding a last-gasp equaliser to the Azzurrini and must now face reigning champions Spain, who are yet to concede a goal in the competition.

Norway have never reached the final of a major UEFA tournament and have lost all three of their previous competitive meetings with La Rojita – including the last time they reached the semi-final stage in 1998.

The winners of tonight’s first semi-final will face either Italy or the Netherlands in the final on Tuesday June 18th.
