The All Whites, who have Rovers midfielder Tim Payne in their squad, narrowly lost 2-1 in a friendly match against Egypt in Antalya.
The Kiwis kick off their World Cup campaign this Sunday when they take on Uzbekistan. with Group games against Uruguay and Croatia following next week in Bursa.
