Rovers’ players and staff have this morning jetted off for a week-long training camp in Portugal.
Manager Gary Bowyer has taken a 27-man squad out to the Algarve for an intensive week of pre-season preparations.
The players will take part in three training sessions a day, before concluding their trip with a game against Portimonense on Saturday.
The Rovers boss said: "I'm hearing it's a lot hotter than it is here, but we're not going there for a holiday, we're going there to work very hard.
"There are three sessions planned a day, so it's going to be tough for the players.
"We finish with a game at the end of the week against Portimonense.
"A lot of planning has gone into it and we know what we need to get out of it.
"It's pre-season, so it's not going to be easy. The Championship is not easy and it seems to be getting tougher and tougher already, with clubs spending a lot of money and making big signings and we've got to be competitive in that."
