They've been magnificent

5 January 2013

Gary Bowyer has been delighted with the attitude and application of the squad since taking charge of first team affairs.

Following the sacking of Henning Berg last month the Reserve-team boss was asked to look after the senior squad and Bowyer has been impressed with how the players have reacted.

It was confirmed on Thursday that Bowyer and Academy coach Terry McPhillips would continue in their temporary role with the first team with the duo happy to do so.

"All along myself and Terry have said we'll try and help the club and that is what we'll continue to do," said Bowyer.

"It has been enjoyable so far and long may it continue. It buys the club a little bit more time.

"We'll just keep doing what we're doing and hopefully we'll continue with the success that we've had.

"The players have took full responsibility of the levels of performance, we told the players to concentrate on their football and they've been magnificent.

"It is a ringing endorsement for the players and they way they have gone about it in the last couple of games."
